Pickle With Present

Isn’t he a cutie?  He’s a Wild Rose Studio stamp but he doesn’t seem to get many outings, must rectify that as he’s so lovely to colour.

I used two pieces of free digital paper, edging both with DI Tumbled Glass.  The scalloped circle, corner dies and snowflakes are all DCWV Glitter paper and the  sentiment and light blue backing card came from the UK ages ago.  I coloured Mr Pickle with Prisma pencils, adding a bit of Martha glitter to his hat and some yellow Stickles to his little beak.  He was then cut out and popped up on foam dots.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I also added a few little gems but didn’t want to over embellish it.  The LO is from this weeks sketch at Sketch Saturday.

  3. Well, I have some serious catching up to do…I can’t leave comments on your blog from my daughters house. I usually blogsurf while little Mr P watches his TV show…so here i am working backwards to catch up.
This card is so cute. Love that image and the careful fussycutting. Isn’t that MB ciorner snowflakes a delight? I think it is my fave Xmas die.

  4. Prisma face colours – 939 peach and 927 light peach I go cautiously with the darker shade around the edges and where the shadows would be then blend in with the lighter. If I want even more shading I will add a tiny bit of one of my reddish browns probably 945 Sienna brown and again blend in. I use 928 blush pink for the cheeks but very lightly it is so easy to overdo the cheeks!
When colouring faces, I find less is more, I take my time and always use the sharpest pencils. You can always add more but there is no redemption when you have applied too much! I also try to keep away from the ink lines as they can fade away if you get the pencil over the top of them. Sometimes you can fix that with the thinner but best to avoid in the first place I find.
Hope this helps, best advice is just practice and you will soon find what works best for you.
