I decided to get mine done early this year! Hate last minute panics when you realise you’ve forgotten something important like Father’s Day, or Mother’s Day for that matter. Both Les Is More and Really Reasonable Ribbons want to see Masculine Cards for their current challenges, and Really Reasonable Ribbons also require the use of ribbons/fibres on the card too.
I decided on a simple card using kraft for the base and a stamp from my new Hero Arts clear set Delicate Leaf Clusters. I played about with stamp colours, even trying Versamark on the kraft, but decided to stick with a mostly brown theme. I was thinking of brown and blue first of all, as I really like that combo on the kraft card but couldn’t find any thin blue ribbon in my stash to match in with the theme.
The card is 6″ x 4″ overall, but the front measures 5″ wide. Before I did anything I generated the sentiment on the computer and printed it directly to the card base. I then rounded the corners and used a pokey tool to add some little holes, following the curve. I stamped the image in Memento Fluid Chalk ink, and did a second impression on the inside. Finally I punched the edge with a Fiskars border punch and threaded some bronze and chocolate brown organdy ribbon through some of the holes. I was very lucky with that as I had the exact number of punched holes to repeat the ribbon pattern evenly.
Card Recipe:
- Card: Kraft card from JoAnn
- Stamp: Hero Arts Delicate Leaf Clusters
- Ink: Memento Fluid Chalk Sahara Sand
- Embellies: Bronze ribbon saved from a gift ~ Chocolate ribbon from JoAnn
- Tools: Computer ~ Making Memories Pokey Tool ~ Fiskars Threading Water Punch

Super card Brenda, kraft card lends itself well for masculine cards and you have matched it with a great image and inks. I think chaps can cope with a bit of ribbon too!
Thanks for another great submission!

This is lovely..were the holes really luck? I’d have shoved the ribbons in the bottom three holes to fan out from the text..wouldn’t have occurred to me to do what you did…love that we all so the same so differently!!
