Bah Humbug want to see Scarves and Mittens on our Christmas themed projects for this week, and I’m linking up with Jules again who is waging a war against all those pesky little bits of card and DP that we all have tucked away.  This card worked out rather well on the snippets front,  more than rather well actually, as I found in the Christmas Snippet box both the pre-coloured and glittered image and the sentiment too, as well as all the papers!!

Sorry the colour is a bit off, I always find it hard to photograph bright pinks, looks like the little Hedgies have luminous pink boots doesn’t it!

The larger backing piece of paper is from a 12×12 DCWV Winter Stack, and the glittered trees are from a MME Christmas pad.  The pink card is by Bazzil and I punched out a few snowflakes with the last little scrap.  The sentiment was a free download from yonks ago that I cut in to two in order to use up another scrap of Bazzil, all the papers were edged with TH Victorian Velvet.  The image was definitely water coloured with inks but I have no idea which ones!  The lovely stamp is from Penny Black and was the first one of theirs that I bought a couple of years ago, I think this coloured image might even be from about that time as I stamped about ten images but I know not all of them made it on to cards.

As I had a piece of large backing paper I suppose that begs the question…. what size paper do you consider to be a snippet or scraps?  I have two boxes, one which you can regularly see over flowing on my desk if you visit on a Wednesday when I show off my work desk, which has card and normal bits of DP in it too.  The second one has bits and pieces of Christmas things in it, including bits of glitter card, punched snowflakes and Christmas DP and cardstock.  Both of these boxes are about 8″ x 6″, so anything that fits into them I consider a snippet.  Anything bigger goes back in the paper pad.  Of course, I could easily fit full sheets from any 6″ x 6″ or 6″ x 4″ pad in those boxes, but the rule for the papers is that they have to be cut in to in order to end up in the box.  So every so often I’ll find a piece of paper large enough to cover a  6 1/2″ x 5″ card blank, which is what happened here.  I still consider that a snippet, would you?  I also found enough pieces to make another Christmas card too, so I’ll be back later in the week with that one.
