Hello Peeps, Happy Sunday to you all.  We’re having a lovely wet day here today, don’t get too many of them in the summer so it’s actually nice to sit inside and get on with some inside things, which of course includes crafting!

I’ve been stamping and colouring images quite a bit this last week and decided to make up a card using this really sweet little House Mouse image called Mice And Cozy.  I was also in a bit of a rustic/natural type of mood and really like how this card came out.  I especially like the snowflakes punched from Kraft card stock, edged with Vintage Photo DI and sprinkled with fine glitter, might have to try this more often.

The LO is based on the current sketch from Christmas Challenges {With Sketches} and it just worked out perfectly for what I had in mind.  All of the paper is from DCWV Christmas Stacks and JoAnn Kraft card stock, and they’re all scraps that were left over from other projects.  The image was water coloured with various inks and pencils on to specialist water colour card, and the pine fronds were accented with a green Fiskars Glitter pen.

I covered the Christmas light with Glossy Accents and then sprinkled on some fine Martha Stewart glitter and let it dry, this gives such a lovely sparkly and glossy effect.  Aren’t those little mice just the cutest little things??  Here’s a close up of the large snowflake too, this is something I’ll definitely do again.

I used a Martha Stewart large snowflake punch to cut out the Kraft card stock, dabbed all over with Antique Linen DI and then dabbed around the edges with Vintage Photo DI before covering with a bit of glue and a sprinkling of the fine MS glitter again.  I made the two smaller snowflakes in the same way.  I’m thinking of replacing the red/white bakers twine with a bit of jute string which I think might be  better suited to the woodsy theme.

The sentiment is from a clear Penny Black set and I stamped it in Memento chalk ink in Gingerbread and sprinkled over a little more of the glitter while the ink was still damp.  It’s not showing up here but it has a lovely soft sheen to it IRL.  A few little red pearls finished it off.
