Not outside thankfully, Fall is still in full swing here and despite the clocks going back last night, we’ve still been nudging 60F again today.  But Snowy is the name of this wonderful Penny Black stamp, and he’s also my absolute favourite Snowman image too.  I acquired him over Christmas last year.   After a friend stamped me a bunch of images and I sat and made six cards at once I knew I had to get this stamp, but this is the first time I’ve used him for this years cards.  No other snowman compares in my mind.

To start, I embossed a plain white panel with the Cuttlebug Snowflake folder, mounted a piece of DCWV Winter paper on top, secured the silver mesh ribbon around and stuck it to the card blank.  Using the Cuttlebug again, I embossed another piece of white paper this time cutting it out with a large scalloped circle die, and cutting another smaller one from iridescent silver card.  Snowy was coloured with Distress Inks with white flocking powder added to his hat, followed by a layer of Frosted Lace Stickles, the snow at the base of the image received the same treatment, although the sparkle just doesn’t show up.  His buttons are Stickles Black Diamond.  The sentiment is Hero Arts, the snowflakes are a Martha punch, the dew drops were a candy win and I finished it off by sewing a white button on to the mesh ribbon.
