Just popping in with a quick make from last night. I got three sets of Tapestry Peg Stamps for Christmas and was itching to give them a go, one of them was the Pine Cone Border set so I decided to make another card for the ABC Christmas Evergreen challenge. This is my first attempt with these stamps and I was very pleased with the results, a little more practice won’t hurt, but at least my first effort didn’t end up in the bin, lol!
It started out as a circle honest! In fact I followed a tip from Di, I think it was, who said to trace round a circular object (I used a Nestie die) with an embossing tool to emboss a light impression on to your paper. You do this on the back of the paper to be stamped and end up with a nice template on the front of your piece to stamp over to give you the basic outline. And if you don’t press too hard, it doesn’t show up once you’ve done your stamping. Genius!
I used Versamagic and Memento Inks, the backing papers were from the scrap box and the sentiment is part of a Penny Black one that says Joy To The World. The little red branch is actually from an old See-D’s set and I used it to add a bit more Christmas colour to the composition. Some of the pinecones have a little bit of Crystal Stickles on them too.
Card Recipe:
- Card: The Paper Company Kraft ~ Mats from the scrap box
- Stamps: Tapestry Pine Cone Border ~ Penny Black Caroling Penguins ~ See-D’s set
- Ink: Versamagic Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy,Pearlescent Olive & Coffee Bean ~ Memento Rhubarb Stalk
- Embellies: Crystal Stickles

Super card Brenda – and yes, it was me, on my blog here: http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/festive-wreath-card.html
However, I got the idea from The Crafty Elf – isn’t it good to share what tips we find. But sooo easy to forget exactly where we first spotted them – err, as I know to my cost 🙂
I love this card, that’s a great set of stamps and the sentiment is brilliant, just the right size for the centre. Welcome back to the playground, and what’s your choice of ‘virtual plaything’ this time?

Hey Brenda – I do not know what these stamps are but you have made a very attractive card and on your first go too. I took it that all these components are individual stamps. Boy it would take me several times and then I would have to hold my breath! Pretty card!

A beautiful card, Brenda, and I think it looks more like a real wreath would, not being a perfect circle. I’m really thankful for this post because I bought a BUNCH of those Tapestry stamps a couple of years ago and never use them! Now I’m inspired!!

That is a great tip to keep your circle more circular. I have several sets of Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps. I’ve totally forgotten about them. My circles never are very round either… but now they can be!

ROFL! The Mother’s Day cards I mentioned on my blog this week were Stamp Tapestry ones! How funny… They are heavenly, aren’t they? It doesn’t take much to wind up with a spectacular card. I feel the need to buy more than the three sets I have – Poinsettia Wreath, Summer’s Gold and Pretty in Pink. Oh, and I’ve got their clear Holiday Plate 2 – I’ve yet to try that one though! Thank for passing on Di’s helpful tip, cos my circles always end up lopsided!
