Happy Monday peeps, did you have a good weekend? We went away camping again to Sleepy Hollow State Park near Lansing the capital of Michigan. This is a great park for us as it’s only a 1 1/2 hour drive from home, and as you have to vacate your camping spot by 1:00pm on your last day, or pay for another day, it means that we’re never home late. After all that crazy, record breaking heat earlier in the summer, the bottom has completely dropped out of our temperatures and it feels more like autumn than late summer. Not that I’m complaining at all mind you, I love autumn, my favourite time of year, and this is great sleeping weather again as it’s so wonderful and cool over night, in fact, it was only 7C overnight at the weekend and there was a very heavy dew each morning when we got up.
Anyway, this is a card I had ready to photograph when I got home on Sunday afternoon. I was on a roll with Christmas cards last week and this is the last of the eight I made. It uses Penny Black Carolling Penguins and DCWV Tis The Season 12″x12″ Winter Stack from a couple of years ago. I went through all my large stacks and pulled out all of the partially used pages to try and use them up before cutting into any more.

I followed this weeks sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday for the LO. The image was water coloured with Marvy Markers and a Stampology ink pad and accented with a large amount of Crystal Stickles; it was cut out with an Oval Nesties and mounted on a Lacey Ovals Nestie cut out from kraft card. The tag is also cut out of kraft and the sentiment is from the same PB set, it actually reads Joy To The World, but I just stamped the first word. The bakers twine is from The Ribbon Girl and the punches are Martha Stewart and Marvy Uchida. I punched the larger snowflake from the green dotty paper, and the other three from the kraft card. The kraft snowflakes were edged with Aged Mahogany DI and the papers were edged with Memento Gingerbread.

this is a lovely card Brenda. I haven’t made a single Christmas card yet. I really ought to get my finger out. Truth is, I haven’t made a card in ages now as I’ve just not got the energy. I’ve been spending it all on tidying and cleaning. Roll on the boys going to college in September. I just need to see if there are any dog creche facilites nearby lol.
Wow – what a difference in those temperatures… this is something, you know, that happens here all the time – you can’t predict the afternoon’s weather – never mind plan a week!!! Nice to read about your camping. Something we haven’t managed this year.
