Hello All and a very happy 2013 to you.

Ever since I went to the little card class before Christmas I’ve been meaning to give a technique a go that we did in the class, but it’s taken me until today to clear the decks and make some time to have a go at it.  It’s very simple.  It just involves stamping and/or colouring your image and then covering the whole panel with Versamark ink and heat embossing with holographic embossing powder.  It gives an incredibly sparkly finish, really pretty.

The challenge over at PBSC this month is for Glitter and Sparkle, and again, I’d meant to make this card and link it up either before or during the Christmas break but never got an opportunity to do so, luckily though, they’ve kept their current challenge going a few days longer.

And yes, my first card of 2013 is a Christmas card!  Start as you mean to go on I say!  The card is small, about 4.5″ square, made from an offcut and stamped with a PB snowflake in Versamark.  The main image is from the clear set Winter Whites and Greens (as is the snowflake) and it was stamped in Versamagic Jumbo Java and coloured with my new (for Christmas) Prismacolor Pencils.  After colouring, I covered the panel with Versamark ink and embossed with Ranger Holographic EP.  The sentiment was first embossed in gold and then clear embossed with the holographic EP again, it’s by Serendipity Stamps.

Here’s a close up of the flower panel, hopefully the sparkle comes through the computer screen OK!
