Hello peeps, yes I know, it’s hot and sunny outside and I’m still dreaming of a White Christmas!  Can’t help it I’m afraid, so I have another Christmas card for you today, this one in a vintagey style using the free digital vintage carols that were on my desk for this weeks What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

I started with half a sheet of 12×12 kraft card to make the base in order to completely fit a piece of the wonderful BoBunny paper on it, this is a sheet from the Father Christmas pack from a couple of years ago.  I distressed it a bit with DI Tea Dye and Walnut Stain and added  some Aged Gold Frantage embossing powder on some of the edges.  Frantage is my new favourite thing in the entire world, it really is totally cool and groovy, tons of fun!  The vintage Christmas carol is a free digi download from Flikr, you can find it here, along with lots of other vintage ephemera you can use in your projects.  I printed four of these on good quality inkjet paper after resizing them in Word and then tore it, rolled the corner, pulled little bits off it, attacked it with an edge distresser and then inked it up with the Tea Dye and the Walnut stain again.  The green lace trim from Pink Paislee was then added and the base card was stuck down to the kraft.

The focal image is part of a clear Inkadinkado set that I totally forgot to get the name of!  I stamped it in Versamark on an offcut of cream card and embossed it in gold EP from JoAnn before dabbing around the outside with the DI inks again.  It was mounted on to a scrap of burgundy card and had a couple of pieces of ribbon scraps folded over and adhered to the underside.  It was popped up on foam tape too.

The card sat like this for a couple of days until I decided I wanted a flower spray on the left, so I played about with some flowers from WOC and a fantastic, vintage, crystal spray kindly sent to me from my friend Mary in CA.

I added a bit of Frosted Lace stickles to the flowers and twirled the stems of the crystal spray around a toothpick and stuck the whole lot down with glossy accents.  One final pic for you, sorry these are a bit off in terms of the light conditions btw, but I was playing around quite a bit trying not to have the lights bounce of the gold embossing too much and it wasn’t easy!!

Very pleased with the way this whole card turned out, especially as I kept going back to it for half an hour here and there, it sort of evolved instead of being planned!
