Hello Mousie fans! I haven’t made a House Mouse card in such a long time! There’s a new HM challenge blog on the block too, run by my Sparkles boss, the lovely Shaz, so I thought it’s about time to stop procrastinating and get back into the craft room again!
Shaz has a simple theme for their first challenge of Anything Goes, and the lovely guys and gals at House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge want us to use a stamp that hasn’t seen ink before. I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve got a number of HM stamps in that category! So I looked through them and decided to use One Mouse Band and make something happy and Springlike, as it’s nothing like Spring outside yet and I’m definitely not happy about that!
I coloured my image with my Prisma pencils, adding the Inkadinkado sentiment on the side before I started to colour. The papers are also having their first ever outing although I’ve had them for a while. The yellow floral is from Provocraft and the green is from a Melissa Frances 6×6 pack. I used purple gingham ribbon to cover up the join. The three fishtail/pennant strips were cut by hand using two DCWV scraps from the scrapbox and a little piece of the yellow floral. My only embellishment is a few gems in three of the corners, so quite a clean and simple card for my first foray back into HM.
I based the card on the current sketch over at Sketch Saturday too.
Card Recipe:
- Card: Blank form Michaels ~ GinaK Pure Luxury White ~ The Paper Company Lilac
- DP: Melissa Frances Kitschy Kitchen 6×6 pack ~ Provocraft Yellow Floral
- Stamps: Stampabilities One Mouse Band ~ Inkadinkado Sending Wishes clear set
- Ink: ColurBoxQ Wicked Black ~ Memento Sweet Plum
- Embellies: Purple Gems from Michaels

Brenda, he is just so darned cute, I wanted to come give him a hug. I will have to rummage through my HM drawer cuz I know I have lots that are NBI’d (that’s never before inked! Just ran across that earlier today. Wonder if that blogger knows Darnell! My vocabulary is growing with all these acronyms!) Loved the way you have colored Cutie Mouse, and your spring colors, the bright banners..just a great card. TFS & I enjoyed your Valentine cards too! You’ve been a busy cardmaker. Good for you! Hugs
