Back again, radio silence for ages and now two posts in two days! Talk about waiting for a bus!!
I came across another sketch at the weekend that I wanted to work with, this one from the lovely ladies at the Jingle Belles challenge, and for whatever reason I very quickly decided on blue and gold, and then added some red, because, well, I can! I think it is a good contrast actually. Christmas Fun challenge have a dual challenge each fortnight, you can follow their theme or add an “anything goes” project, as long as it’s Christmas related. I’ve already added an Anything Goes card, so this time I followed their theme of Baubles & Bows.
I started with a plain piece of GinaK white card and embossed the Inkadinkado snowflake swirls in gold and then used a couple of blue Distress Inks to create the background colour. It was after this was made and I’d looked at it for a while that I decided to fill in with a little snowflake stamp and Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink. The bauble and bow are from a Kanban set and were embossed in gold and red before being cut out with a Deckle Edged Nestie and mounted on to scrap red card.
The sentiment is from Wild Rose Studios, stamped with the Rhubarb Stalk ink, cut out with a Nesties and mounted on a punched scalloped circle. The snowflake is Martha Stewart and I added a large gold gem. And I used a strip of washi tape for the first time too! I have a little pile of it, I seem to have accumulated it more to look at than to use though, so I thought it about time I rectified that.
