Well, Debby is at it again! This time she wants to see our five favourite cards of 2010…. just five huh? Even she couldn’t manage that, lol!! I couldn’t either, in what was my first full year of card making, as I learned so much and tried some new things that almost every card became an instant favourite! So what I decided to do was to go with my Top Five Penny Black cards, as PB rapidly established itself as my favourite brand of stamps; and then I added on a few more that I really liked that don’t feature Penny Black.
So, Penny Black go first:
Loved the colour combo more than anything on this card, I used almost every stamp out of the clear set “Illumination” to create it.
I discovered resist embossing in a big way in 2010 and used it quite a bit. This was a simple card for the Red, White & Blue challenge at PBSC, but I love how effective it was.
My first ever Halloween card, I don’t even own any Halloween stamps, the image was provided by a friend! I’d also started to water colour a lot in 2010 and this one is done in Distress Inks. Loved the papers too, which were a free digital download.
Something else I discovered was playing around with the collage technique to make your own background papers. I also discovered just how well pink and brown look together!
My final PB card is a very simple one, the beautiful papers and the burgundy accents really make it stand out for me.

And here are a few other cards that I really liked making this year:
A Mo Manning digital image graces a fun 50th birthday card for my brother!
My other favoutire brand is Stampabilities, especially their House Mouse range. My pal Paula stamped this really sweet image for me and I used it on a Get Well card for a little girl I know. After I took the photo of it I added some more little brown pearls just under the sentiment. The image was coloured with regular pencils and the flower heads had stickles applied to them.
Another card using the collage technique for the background and resist embossing for the focal image. The main image was coloured with inks and a finger dauber and it’s a wood mounted Inkadinkado stamp.
An finally, another House Mouse image, also supplied by Paula and coloured with Distress Inks. I absolutely love the colours on this one and I’ll freely admit to having refused to part with this card up to now!!
So that’s me for 2010. I think almost every card was a learning experience for me so I hope to continue with that in 2011 and see what else I can come up with. Have a wonderful New Year those of you celebrating tonight, and Happy New Years Day to those of you who have already welcomed the New Year in. Hope to see you again in 2011.
